Every Friday from 5pm, the British brasserie hosts Steak Frites Fridays, where premium cuts are served with fries and your choice of classic sauce, with prices starting from AED 149.
From the moment we arrived, the experience felt effortless. The interiors are warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between elegant and relaxed. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a laid-back girls’ night, a casual date or an unhurried dinner after work. The staff were genuinely friendly throughout the evening, while the manager made everyone feel welcome – something that always leaves a lasting impression.
What We Ordered
I went for the 300g O’Connor Black Angus Prime Ribeye with béarnaise sauce and Parmesan truffle fries.
The steak was beautifully juicy with just the right amount of chew, while the béarnaise complemented it perfectly without overpowering the flavour of the meat. The truffle fries were crisp, indulgent and exactly what you’d hope for.
What surprised me most, however, was the portion size.
It was incredibly generous and I genuinely struggled to finish it. In fact, I’d comfortably recommend that two women with moderate appetites could share the ribeye if you’re planning on ordering starters or dessert.
My mum chose the Black Angus Flank Steak, cooked well done, and thoroughly enjoyed it. That’s worth mentioning because she’s not usually someone who orders steak, so for this to win her over says a lot about the quality.
The wine pours were equally generous, making the experience feel even better value.
The Verdict
The Spaniel has managed to create the kind of Friday night offering that doesn’t feel overcomplicated. It’s simply quality steak, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere in one of Dubai’s nicest waterfront locations.
Whether you’re planning a girls’ catch-up, a date night or simply looking for a proper steak dinner, Steak Frites Fridays is well worth booking.
