Fashion and Art have always gone hand in hand. In a year like no other, Fashion houses have expressed their creativity in the digital space by presenting their new collections in ways that have never been done before. Mirroring the rest of the world, Fashion Weeks and the normal methods of presenting collections, have been disrupted this season. As a result, this exclusive world of invitation-only events has taken to the digital space for all to enjoy. Fashion houses have upscaled and impressed with virtual masterpieces that showcase stunning new collections.
Fashion has never been meant to be marvelled at in a single image, it is meant to be seen in movement and colour. Therefore, these video presentations allow each piece to be seen in full-action from the comfort of our own homes. This year, there is no fashion schedule to travel to or prepare for, therefore, we have been keeping our eyes on the digital space to stay up-to-date with the premiers of the SS21 collections.
Highlights of the season so far include Maison Valentino’s “Of Grace and Light” couture collection. This showcase astounded many with Supermodel, Gigi Hadid, at the helm creating dreamlike scenes. Then, Dior’s ‘Cruise 2021’ masterpiece was full of passion and performance. An incredible stand for Female Empowerment with LED scenery to marvel at, this collection was accompanied by a traditional Italian orchestra and a dance performance.

L’Amour by JACQUEMUS
Jacquemus presented a stunning SS21 collection in a corn field. One of this season’s only physical events, 100 VIP guests gathered to view this new stunning collection. Seated and Social Distancing, drones and cameras captured the stunning scene for all to see.
Speaking on the collection and presentation, Simon Porte Jaquemus said: “As an idea for this collection, L’Amour began as something different. I imagined people gathered together celebrating love. But what’s so beautiful about L’Amour is how it can endure—sometimes even grow stronger—in the absence of people being together. Not long after my team was separated from each other, we were all in our homes feeling the desire to work, and a new vision of the collection emerged. In fact, every decision I make concerning JACQUEMUS is motivated first by love and common sense. It’s why we shifted to a more sustainable rhythm last year. This decision ended up saving us this season, since we had received all our fabric orders ahead of the confinement. Deciding to go ahead with our usual collection schedule and with a show is at the heart of our visual identity, our commercial strategy. Separate but collectively, we realized that the home is a place of endless inspiration. For me, it is important for people to see that a true celebration of L’Amour is universal.” – Simon
