Boucheron’s latest Carte Blanche High Jewellery collection “Or Bleu” is an homage to water – a vital life force. Taking inspiration from the glaciers and waterfalls of Iceland, Claire Choisne incorporated this by including aquatic-inspired color, texture, reflection and the transparency of the element. Each of the 26 pieces masterfully capture the beauty of water, and nature at large.
The Cascade necklace, a centerpiece of the collection, is 148cm long and studded with 1816 diamonds and reminiscent of a waterfall and the longest diamond piece ever made in the Boucheron ateliers. The Ondes Necklace reflects the ripples of water, is designed using a 3D software, and is studded with 4542 diamonds set invisibly underneath the rings.
The Eau D’encre pieces, a duo featuring a cuff bracelet and a ring was created by Claire Choisne after witnessing the inky black waters of Iceland. Icebergs are also another motif for some pieces in this collection, with their sheen reflected by diamonds. The Iceberg necklace was a result of 2000 hours of craftsmanship and features Pave diamonds set with rock crystal. Yet another standout from these stunning pieces, includes the Cristaux, a necklace featuring 24 Azure aquamarines set in hexagonal rock crystal.
Each stunning piece in the collection draws inspiration from the icy glaciers and other bodies, and are in many ways a snapshot of nature, encased in ice as a way to immortalize and capture nature’s beauty.
