World-renowned auction house, Christie’s, have announced an expansion of their online sales calendar. Many collectors are currently enjoying learning about art and buying objects they love. Therefore, Christie’s have added new options to their online calendar. Launching globally across the company in April and May, on a weekly basis.
Being the first ever auction house to create their own online integrated sales platform, Christie’s are providing the world with art and culture as a means of hope, in this time of turbulence. What’s more, one of the launching pieces in this calendar is being sold to support the Foundations effort in providing emergency relief to artists. Particularly those who may be struggling during this global crisis. Titled “Andy Warhol: Better Days” this selection of polaroid prints will be open for bidding on the 28th April – 8th May.

Dirk Boll, President of Christie’s EMEA, said: “Alongside the existing calendar of sales announced earlier last week, we have more than tripled our schedule of online-only sales globally for April and May. This includes newly-created sales from long-standing partnerships with the Warhol Foundation and Saatchi Gallery, as well as conversion of select sales from the traditional saleroom format to online-only offerings.”
Each auction will be timed at approximately 14-21 days, with this calendar expected to grow over the coming months. These newly scheduled sales span 20th Century Art, Asian Art, Decorative Arts, Photography, Science and Natural History as well as Jewels, Watches and Handbags.
