Most Expensive Fragrances in the World and Where to Find Them in the UAE

Last year The Spirit of Dubai Parfums by Nabeel unveiled ‘Shumukh’, the world’s most expensive fragrance, for a cool 4.752m AED. The 3-litre bottle – which set records for both its high price and large volume – is adorned with silver, gold, diamonds, topazes and pearls. The scent, whose name translates to ‘deserving of the highest’ in Arabic, is unisex with notes of sandalwood, musk, Ylang-ylang, Turkish rose, Indian agarwood, musk and patchouli. Made to encompass the persona of Dubai, with the bottle paying homage to pearl-diving, falconry, Arabian horses, roses, Arabian hospitality and Dubai’s reputation of ‘city of the future’. Expect a six month wait if you are interested in purchasing a bottle…

For those looking for something equally luxe but more commercially available, Clive Christian No.1 Imperial Majesty is the second most expensive alternative. With outlets in Harvey Nichols (Mall of the Emirates), Bloomingdales and Galleries Lafayette (Dubai Mall), you have a greater chance of snapping up one of the elusive five bottles produced annually. At $215,000 for 500ml of the fragrance, the price includes delivery by a Bentley. With the intricate bottle made from polished crystal, the neck made of 18ct gold and a 5ct diamond nestled inside, it is no surprise that one of every three bottles are broken during the production process.

With both products in such finite supply, only those who act fast will be in with a chance of owning these heaven scent fragrances!
