UAE Union Day 2023: Three Initiatives to Support

The UAE marks 52 years of its formation on December 2nd. The nation has evolved into a leader in business, and a hub for creativity, all in a period of 52 short years. Built on a foundation of unity and diversity, the country has made its mark on the world in many ways, through the spirit of cooperation and coordination amongst individuals of different backgrounds and walks of life. A range of collaborative initiatives have been unveiled this Union Day and is a testament to the spirit of togetherness that propels the nation forward.

Below are three interesting Union Day initiatives to follow.

Group Patchwork Quilt by Farida Talaat

Dubai Based Quilt artist Farida Talaat has created a collaborative quilting project with 10 other quilt artists themed around ‘What the UAE means to me’. Each block by each artist symbolizes a meaningful personal connection to the country, the quilt maker’s story and what the UAE means to them.

Embracing Sustainability by Dubai Airports

Dubai Airports celebrated the 52nd Union Day with an event that emphasized the importance of embracing ‘The Year of Sustainability’. In collaboration with, Dubai Police, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), dnata, Customs, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS), and Dubai Culture, the event spotlighted traditional and sustainable handicrafts, as well entrepreneurial initiatives.

 

Etika Jewels’ and 2DOT4 Diamonds’ UAE-Map Shaped Diamond
