#UnitedArtEmirates is an art initiative created to unite, inspire and encourage the UAE’s community during a tumultuous time in the world. This initiative is calling all artists, both professional and amateur, to share a piece of visual art with Art Painting Lab. Following this, their mission is to paint public murals with the art they receive.
This initiative is not only creating an opportunity for artists to gain recognition but it is also commemorating the moments where UAE residents are coming together to create something inspiring, during these unprecedented circumstances. Historically, art documents key moments in time and culture binds societies together. For this reason, projects like this could play an integral role in showing the power of art during these times.
In a comment by the founder of Art Painting Lab, Sam Saliba said: “Historically art renaissances occur during tremendous events and often incredible art comes out of them. We hope you will send us your artworks, there is no judgement, good or bad work. Paint like no one is watching”.
Art Painting Lab is hopeful that everyone will take part and contribute – from children to adults across the UAE. Their goal is to have at least 2020 artwork contributions by 1st June 2020.
How to take part:
Contribute your artwork by posting on Instagram and tagging #UnitedArtEmirates, or send it to hello@artpaintinglab.com. All contributors will be personally replied to, and art will be screened to ensure it is culturally appropriate.
Deadline for all contributions is June 1st 2020.
